Structured Interviewing

Duration: 1 Day                             Reference:  MAN09

Interest and Need

A method for the interviewing and selection of new staff or the internal selection of staff that is formatted in such a way as to allow all interviewees to perform as well as they can whilst focussing on the needs of the job requirements.

This can be run as a one day course discussing questioning techniques, how to make candidates feel at ease, how to construct a structured interview process and the metrics used.

Range and Objectives

This one day training workshop enables the delegates to practice new skills learnt and to have a simple five-step process for the construction, planning and carrying out of a structured interview. This course does not discuss interviewing skills other than those mentioned above.

At the end of this training workshop the delegates will be able to:

ü Identify areas of need in constructing a job profile

ü Construct a needs list from a job profile

ü Construct a structured interview based on the job profile

ü How to reduce the stress for the candidate using simple relaxation techniques

ü Use simple questioning techniques to enable the candidates to perform at their best

ü Apply a constant set of metrics to the interview process that will be balanced and fair for all candidates

Pre-requisites

Delegates are required to bring along to the seminar a sample job description or job profile for their own use and whilst there are no other formal pre-requisites for this workshop, experience of interviewing would be a distinct advantage.
