Interest and Need
Stress in the workplace has been a taboo subject for many years but in more recent times has become an accepted subject of conversation. Stress can have emotional, behavioural and physical effects, all of which can affect an individual’s performance at work. We need to be able to understand what causes stress, and why, for us to be able to reduce stress in the workplace.
This one-day training workshop is an instructor lead event that encourages delegates to participate in discussions looking at the behavioural cycle and how this can impact on our stress levels at work and outside work. This course will provide delegates with simple strategies for dealing with identified sources of stress and provide them with some tools to help reduce the effects in themselves and others.
At the end of this training workshop delegates will be able to:
· Identify the common causes of stress in themselves and others
· Apply simple coping techniques to reduce the effects of the sources of stress in themselves
· Reduce the impact that they have in the stress levels of others
· Understand the basic behavioural model
· Appreciate why we are all different in the way we cope with stress
· Use self help techniques to reduce the effects of stress in themselves
· Understand how communication techniques can help reduce stress levels
There are no pre-requisites for this workshop.
