Up to £1000 in funding is now available to help business leaders pay for training to grow their organisations
Through the Leadership and Management Advisory Service, business leaders can apply for funding towards a wide range of learning and development activities. This popular service is available for a limited time only.
The Leadership and Management Advisory Service is delivered across Central England by EMB Ltd and funded by the Skills Funding Agency. Once EMB have received your programme application form, they will arrange for you to meet one of their Advisors and together, you will identify your personal development needs and decide on the most appropriate learning and development activities.
Up to £1,000 in grant funding is available to help pay for the solution. This excludes VAT and must be fully matched by the beneficiary organisation on a pound for pound basis, excluding the VAT element. For example, your Leadership and Management funding could provide:
· 50% of the cost of a personal business coach
· 50% of the cost of advice to prepare for assessment against the Investors in People standard
· 50% of the cost of training to help you manage your employees more effectively.
This offer is open to private sector businesses or social enterprises with the potential for high growth and 2-250 full time equivalent employees including the senior leader. Beneficiaries must be the owner/MD/CEO of a business or social enterprise if it employs 10 people or less. If it employs more than 10 people, a beneficiary who reports directly to the owner/MD/CEO can be considered.
Funded Learning and Development must address one of the following areas:
· Developing a highly effective personal Leadership and Management style
o i.e. strategic thinking and planning, communication and presentation skills, NLP and confidence building
· Creating a joint enterprise culture with your workforce
o i.e. change management, organisational development, conflict resolution, developing a senior team
· Planning and developing an effective organisation and teams
o i.e. .people processes including recruitment and selection, team building, roles and responsibilities, performance and people management
· Leading and managing employee performance
o i.e. coaching skills, motivation, monitoring and reviewing performance, staff development, giving feedback.
In some very limited circumstances, other proposed leadership and management development activity which supports the beneficiary to fully engage and make full use of their workforce may be approved but this will require additional approval from the Skills Funding Agency.
